Frankfurt

  1. 1. FRANKFURT AM MAI N Frankfurt am Main is the largest city in the German state of Hessen and the fifth-largest city in Germany, with an estimated mid-2005 population of 648,325. Situated on the Main river, Frankfurt is the financial and transportation center of Germany. Frankfurt is the seat of the European Central Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and is one of the two largest financial centers in continental Europe (the other one being Paris). According to Liverpool University, Frankfurt was the wealthiest city in the European Union in 2001 as measured by GDP per capita. Greta and I have lived in this city for 20 years and we both feel it is our second home. Arthur
