more persons against another person without that
person's consent.

is incapable of valid consent, such as a person
who is unconscious or incapacitated
4. Nicholas Groth has described three types of
rape, based on the goal of the rapist:
Anger rapist
Power rapist
Sadistic rapist
5. Anger rapist : much more physical force and this type of
offender attacks their victim by grabbing, striking and
knocking the victim to the ground, beating them, tearing
their clothes, and raping them. Anger rape is characterized
by physical brutality,
Power rapist : The power rapists tends to have fantasies
about sexual conquests and rape. They may believe that
even though the victim initially resists them, that once they
overpower their victim, the victim will eventually enjoy the
rape. The rapist needs to believe that the victim enjoyed
what was done to them, and they may even ask the victim
to meet them for a date later.
6. Sadistic rapist : The sadistic rapist's assaults are
deliberate, calculated and preplanned. They will often
wear a disguise or will blindfold their victims.
7. Date rape : Date rape is a non-domestic
rape committed by someone who knows
the victim.
Gang rape : Gang rape occurs when a
group of people participate in the rape of a
single victim.
Spousal rape : is rape between a married
or de facto couple.
8. Rape of children : Rape of a child is a form of child
sexual abuse. When committed by another child
(usually older or stronger)
Statutory rape : is used in some legal jurisdictions to
refer to sexual activities in which one person is below
the age required to legally consent to the behavior.
Prison rape : refers to rape occurring in prison. It has
come into common usage to refer to rape of inmates
by other inmates, and less commonly to the rape of
inmates by staff, or the rape of staff by inmates.
9. Victims of rape can be severely traumatized by the assault and
may have difficulty functioning as well as they had been used
to prior to the assault, with disruption of concentration,
sleeping patterns and eating habits, for example. They may
feel jumpy or be on edge. After being raped, it is common for
the victim to experience acute stress disorder, including
symptoms similar to those of posttraumatic stress disorder,
such as intense, sometimes unpredictable emotions, and they
may find it hard to deal with their memories of the event.
