My Scouting Training Tutorial

  1. 1.  The following is a tutorial for the My Scouting training website Please follow the tutorial to complete your required training The training sessions only take about 20-30 minutes to complete on average The best part…they’re free and anyone can complete them!
  2. 2. Type www.myscouting.org and press “Enter”
  3. 3. Or sign in here if you Create an account hereare already registered
  4. 4. Click “E-Learning”
  5. 5. Click here to take“Youth Protection”
  6. 6. When you complete“Youth Protection”, click “Next”
  7. 7. Be sure to turn your certificate in with your Adult Application Enter your name and troop, pack, or crew number; then press“Print Certificate” After printing your certificate, click “Next”
  8. 8. Click “E-Learning”
  9. 9. Now click on the appropriate tab for your Scouting unit The light is now green indicating thatthe course is complete
  10. 10. To be considered “Trained”,you must also complete Fast Start and Leader Position- Specific Training for your position as well as “This is Scouting”
  11. 11. As you complete your training sessions, theyellow lights will turn green
  12. 12. Click on “Update My Profile”
  13. 13. Once you receive your BSA membership card, select “Old North State Council” in the dropdown menu and enter your membership number.Then press “Add”. This will update the council’s computer with your training records.
  14. 14. More required training… Venture Leaders will need to take “Venture Leader Training through the council Boy Scout and Venture Leaders will also need to complete “Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills” through the council For Cub Scout packs going on any outing, at least one leader on the outing must have completed B.A.L.O.O. (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) training through the council
  15. 15. Supplemental training… Webelos Leaders will need to complete “Outdoor Skills for Webelos Leaders” through the council Pack Trainers will need to complete “Trainer’s E.D.G.E.” through the district or council
  16. 16. Don’t forget all of the “Supplemental Training” that is available online. These courses will increase yourknowledge of the program and make you a better leader!
