  2. 2. Log in to your LinkedIn account
  3. 3. Search for the person with whom you’d like to connect
  4. 4. When You’ve Found the Person, Click the “Connect” Button
  5. 5. • Select the category under which you know this contact – some categories ask you to make a selection from a drop-down list. • If you choose the category “Other”, you must provide the invitee’s email address. • We recommend you write a personal note to your potential connection. • Click “Send Invitation”
  6. 6. After You’ve Sent the Invitation, You’ll be Brought to the “People You May Know” Page
  7. 7. If you click the “Connect” button, an invitation will be sent without a personal message. To send a personal message with your invitation, click the icon indicated below.
  8. 8. A text field will appear where you may enter a personal message. When you’ve finished your message, click “Send Invitation.”
