Beg, borrow orsteal a ticket!Phukkelpop (Belgium)15th-17thAugust 2013The second largest music festival in Belgium, Phukkelpop wasfounded in 1985 and hasn’t gone without problems, including stagecollapses and musician suicides. Highlights this year includeEminem, The Prodigy and Neil Young but if you’re planning onhaving an adventure and attending and, be quick as tickets areselling out fast!

The Burning Man (USA)26thAugust- September 2nd2013The website states: “Trying to explain what Burning Man is tosomeone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying toexplain what a particular colour looks like to someone who is blind.”In a nutshell, Burning Man seems like a hedonistic heaven, wherenudity and garish outfits are encouraged and friendship iscelebrated. Described as an “annual experiment”, Burning Man actsas an art gallery that occupies the expanse of the Black Rock desert;only coffee and ice are sold on site so make sure you bring plenty ofsupplies to ensure your survival.Coachella (USA)12th-24thApril 2013

The festival has become so popularthat it’s now split across two weekends, and with acts such as TheStone Roses, Blur and Red Hot Chili Peppers playing, we aren’tsurpirised.Reading and Leeds (UK)23rd-25thAugust 2013The Reading and Leeds festivals takes place simultaneously across aweekend in August each year and is deemed to be the oldest popfestival still running. The 1992 festival acted as Nirvana’s lastperformance before Kurt Cobain’s suicide. There is also anunfortunate tradition of bottling acts off stage, past victims haveincluded 50 Cent, Bonnie Tyler and Panic! at the Disco.
