The Earth’s mean temperature has increased by about 0.8 degree Celsius since the late 19th century with about two-third of the increase occurring after 1980. According to scientists it is primarily caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation.
