I want to tell your about Joseph Mallord William Turner. He was an English Romantic landscape painter , watercolorist and printmaker . He is commonly known as "the painter of light » His style was Impressionism .
Biography Joseph Mallord William Turner (23 April 1775–19 December 1851) Turner was born in London, England. His younger sister died in 1786 and then his mother in 1804. The young Turner was sent to stay with his uncle by these problems. It was here that he first expressed an interest in painting.
He entered the Royal Academy of Art schools in 1789, when he was only 14 years old and was accepted into the academy a year later. At first Turner showed a keen interest in architecture but was advised to continue painting by the architect Thomas Hardwick (junior).
He exhibited his first oil painting in 1796, Fishermen at sea.
As he grew older, Turner became more eccentric. His father's deaths in 1829 had a profound effect on him, and fall him in depression. He never married, although his two daughters by Sarah Danby were born in 1801 and 1811. He died on 19 of December 1851. At his request he was buried in St Paul's Cathedral. His last exhibition at the Royal Academy was in 1850.
The picture «Ivy Bridge» is my favourite canvas. It was created in 1813. The name Ivy Bridge is derived from a small bridge of the same name. "Ivy" was used to describe the bridge, because the bridge was lines with ivy. «Ivy Bridge» is a landscape. The colours are pale, soft and pastel. The artist expresses his mood and the atmosphere of the place very masterly. In the background we can see a bridge. This picture represents the town in 1977. Also, this picture demonstrates the painter’s sense of space. As for me, this picture is a real masterpiece. That is why I like it.
