  • The destruction of marriage in Canada has had a huge negative impact. It has stripped people of the most important aspect of the family. It has stripped people of their freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Pastors are being muzzled like in communist countries. They are not allowed to speak the truth. People are being forced to live against their moral consciences. Authentic Christians are being forced to live a hypocritical life, because the state wants to be a god.

Everyone who wants to be in marriage, must adhere to the 4 basic rules of marriage. You must not be married, you must be an adult, you must be the opposite sex, and you must not be immediately related. EVERY person has the same legal right to embrace this definition of marriage or not take part. Many people never marry. They are no less human. Many people don't want to be a part of something Godly. They are no less valuable. Marriage is not a right. It is an institution that for thousands of years has been the cornerstone of the family.

Homosexual unions are not marriage. They can have all the same legal and civil rights without disrespecting those who do love and honour God and His institution of marriage. Call this union something else - as it clearly is not marriage. The people demanding respect are not willing to give it to those who love God and His traditions. We once lived in a time where people would consider others, and would respect them. Today, they don't care about anyone but themselves. Their hatred for God and tradition blinds them to their selfishness. They know that marriage has been around for thousands of years, and that people who love God, love His creation of marriage. They attack it, because they hate Him.

They can legalize the killing of the pre-born, but it is still sin in the eyes of almighty God. You can legalize any sin, but it will always be sin to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. You can pretend to be in a marriage, but you are not fooling anyone. Every marriage has a Bride and a Groom. Without either, it is not marriage. The Bride is symbolic of the church, and the Groom is symbolic of Jesus. This is clearly defined in scripture, as is marriage, and sin.

For the Christian, marriage is a metaphor for the Gospel. So when you destroy marriage you are destroying another person's faith. The Gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing. That is the one thing that this issue is proving to be true - again and again.

You don't have to believe in God to respect those who do. You don't have to be married to respect those who are. Don't let people disrespect you. Marriage is defined by God, not man. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Respect others. Respect their faith. Call the very different union - a different name. That is the only way to respect. Stop asking to be respected if you are not willing to give it. Walk your own talk.

The message of hope to mankind - the Gospel - is still available to those who are living in sin. That is the good news! Jesus can transform your sin into righteousness. Your night into day. Your wretchedness into new birth, and a new identity in Him. Repent (turn from your sin), and trust in Jesus alone. You will be a new creation ... and will never thirst again.

  • Same-sex marriage in Canada has had no negative impact whatsoever. Those claimg it has are simply a small handful of civil servants on the public payroll , sworn to deliver a service to Canadian citizens (civil in nature), & suddenly they want to pick & choose who is worthy. The most important issue here is freedom of religion; an essential component of liberty. far too many interpret it to include the right to deny, diminish, or eliminate; the rights of others.
