      Writing a CV: The Do’s
    2. If you would like to write your own CV, here are the things you should do:
Do include your contact details: Your name, address, telephone numbers and email address.
Do be truthful and not tempted into telling little white lies, they will only come back to haunt you.
Do choose the correct format of CV: Chronological, functional or a combination of the two.
Do highlight your key skills and achievements, focusing on how you can help the employer and what you have to offer over other candidates.
Do make sure your CV is word perfect, all spelling is correct and the grammar impeccable.
    3. CV Writing : The Do’s www.angliacvsolutions.co.uk
Do keep your CV succinct, ensure it reads well and is pleasing on the eye, with plenty of white space.
Do include a punchy personal profile to really grab the recruiters attention; encourage them to read on and want to meet you in person.
Do ensure your CV is easily readable. Avoid cramming in too much information and cluttering the page with fancy fonts, borders and shading.
Do make sure your CV is no more than two pages in length. List your employment history chronologically. The past ten years should suffice with the main focus on the last five years.
    4. CV Writing : The Do’s www.angliacvsolutions.co.uk
Do use bullet points, action words and concise sentences. Qualify and quantify your statements to give them more weight and list them under relevant headings.
Do list any qualifications or relevant training courses in chronological order.
Do print your CV on a good quality paper. We recommend 100g white or cream paper with a watermark.
Do tailor your CV when required to the position being applied for. It may mean you will need to tweak the content but it will be worth it.
Do send your CV in on time, unfolded and ensure you have the right postage. Address it to the correct person.
