03/05-05/06 Sr. Systems Analyst Novius RIS
North Shore Health Systems New York, New York
Contracted as a Transitional Sr. Systems Analyst, I shared in the project leadership, and successfully implemented, an ongoing upgrade of the Siemens Novius Radiology Information system (RIS), from v.24.1 to v.27.1, for one of the seven hospitals. I simultaneously expanded my knowledge in the support of the Cerner Millennium product at another satellite hospital, quickly mastering the product as applied within the enterprise. But my most challenging and impressive accomplishment was to adhere to the different requirements of the fourteen department heads involved, one for Radiology and Cardiology at each hospital within the health system, in order to accomplish the project and satisfy requirements that accurately reflect business needs. Coordinated consensus and arranged for acceptance sign-off at various stages, including the creation of flow charts representing the current and end-state process flows.
Contracted as a Documentation Manager assigned to the fresh implementation of PeopleSoft Financials v.8.x for this startup Re-Insurer, I later took over the duties of Assistant Project Manager. I managed 15 Lead Consultants amongst 65 and reported directly to the CFO/Project Manager. I created a variety of MS Visio & PowerPoint presentations of end-state process flows, data mappings and regulatory compliance in support of shareholders. I also sat on the Sarbenes & Oxley (SOX) Steering Committee during my tenure.
Contracted to implement a previously failed attempt to deploy a Siemens Novius Radiology Information System (RIS v26.1) upgrade from the previous version (v21.1), during which I also participated in the planning, vendor selection process, and partnering to the hospital’s concurrent implementation of a Picture Archiving & Communications Systems (PACS) project. While significantly reducing the prior project attempt’s timeline, I secured the latest version release of the product after the contract was signed. In addition, I spearheaded the exchange of a purchased scheduling module for an “Interactive Notes” functionality just released, which saved the Radiology & Cardiology departments close to $100K a year in paper forms procurements. This project included the upgrading of the entire Enterprise’s Network Architecture, Dumb-Terminals to Windows98 OS computers, as well as compatible Laser Printers. In addition, while presiding over project team meetings, I documented stakeholders consensus, created MS Visio flow charts representing the current and end-state process flows for nine modalities: Angiography, Cardiac Cath Lab, CAT Scan, Emergency Room Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Main Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Non-Invasive Cardiology and Ultrasound.
