This video is about plant tissue culture. What is Plantc tissue culture?
Plant tissue culture is mICROPROPAGATION It is the process where plant cells, plant tissues or organs are put in an artificial nutrient medium to produce plants with superior traits IT AIDS THE MASS PROPAGATION OF PLANTS the application/advantages of these are for regeneration of saplings, dwindled forests extinct plants these can be done in 4 STEPS!
STEP ONE. Get a plant get a part of it, for example, a leaf. and cut int out this is called the explant! this will be then put in a nutrient agar with macromolecules amino acids source of carbon organic supplements gelling agents
STEP TWO There will be growth of callus culture which is a important component of PTC, from the explant, it is an unorganized, growing and dividing mass of cells numerous callus would then grow into platelets this development of plant cells is governed by the growth regulators. the two basic GR are the auxins and the cytokinin. they predict the formation of plant parts AND PROMOTE CELL DIVISION AND CELL ELONGATION equal ratio of these will form callus low auxin and high cytokinin will form shoots high auxins and low cytokinin will form roots
STEP THREE IS The transfer of platelets in another medium these platelets will become thousands in several months they will then be called FORESTS ONCE THEY ARE LARGE ENOUGH WE CAN DO STEP 4
STEP FOUR IS the transplantation where plants will be moved into potting soils for the acclimation to the new environment
HIS PLANTS WILL GROW INTO A MATURE PLANT. Thousands of these will be produced and will grow in a greenhouse like any other plants WHY ARE ALL THESE POSSIBLE
it is bECAUSE OF THE TWO MAIN CONCEPTS OOF PTC WHICH ARE PLASTICITY AND TOTIPOTENCY PLASTICITY IS THE PLANT'S ACCLIMATION TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND TOTIPOTENCY IS THE PLANTS ABILITY TO REGENERATE
