Q4) What kind of institution might distribute your music magazine and why?• The way I would choose to distribute my publication amongst its readers would be through physical copies in local news agents and mainstream retail stores such as Sainsburys and Tesco. As well as an online website that is updated daily on the events that have occurred. These may include a celebrity breakup, new music videos, and fashion advice. This would be a sight similar to TMZ and Perez Hilton however it will only be aimed at the interests commonly found amongst my chosen target audience. In addition to the above there will various social networking sites created via Facebook, Twitter, Daily booth etc and a possible app available for smart phones.

Elaboration • Furthermore, I believe my magazine can be categorised in the same category as existing music magazines such as, BOP, Tiger Beat Top of the Pops and many more. These are all successful magazine which achieve high in the music marketing industry. Because of this, I believe my magazine will be sold in stores such as HMV, food stores such as Sainsbury, plus local shops such as Londis and corner stores, like existing magazines. HMV being a store highly related to music and the music industry, people who are attracted to music and who have a big space for it are most likely to shop there. Therefore, my target audience of people who idolise music will be in the store, and my magazine has a low chance of being missed.My target audience being young people are most likely to visit stores like Sainsburys, Londis, and corner shops as they have little money as they are unlikely to be working and if they are, they will be on minimum wage. These stores are relatively cheap and therefore my target audience will be attracted and will frequently shop in them. This ensures when shopping they will be attracted to my magazine. Also stores like this, sell the majority of foods so when magazines are sold, they are limited into variety, this will add a higher percentage on sales as my target audience of people who love music have little variety to choose from and therefore are more likely to pick my magazine. I also feel websites might distribute my magazine. The ideal would be for existing music website to publish my magazine, allowing target audience insight and therefore be more likely to purchase. By this, I mean existing music magazines will advertise my magazine as our publications are alike. This will give a high response rate in my magazine sales. I feel my target audience are likely to view websites as they are a generation who use mixed media and therefore use the internet more, this will also increase sales and help my magazine reach high in the music magazine industry.
