This is a memo that I will be quiet for a while, and includes some slides I haven't as yet used in a cartoon.

  • 1. I’m taking a short break, but have a look at this:-
  • 2.
    • (This is a message
    • for summer 2010)
  • 3.
    • I’m using some time to write up the history of our digital art group here in Sussex, England.
    • The group’s been going for four years or so. We’re a self help get-together, we are mainly based in the mental health community, and we’ve had maybe a dozen people at our group over the time.
  • 4.
    • Also I’m going to write up the history to date of a committee who have been arranging music events in the mental health world in Sussex since 2008.
    • It will be good to get things down in print while memories are still fresh. We’ve organised maybe 15 or so events in the time.
  • 5.
    • So what’s the purpose of this diarising? The main hoped-for outcome is that it will assist in the establishment of a social enterprise to provide art and creativity in this part of the South-East of England. A social enterprise is half way between a hard nosed business and a charity.
  • 6.
    • Another thing is that my therapist has said it might be a good idea to write something about my life history, which she says is unusual. For me, it would go to help give those I know an understanding of where I am at. I’ve done something similar by describing some psychotic episodes in a book published by Chipmunka entitled
    • ‘ The Durham Light and other stories’
  • 7.
    • So this will not only take some time, it will need a focus. I have accumulated a number of slides for cartoons that I have not gotten round to using and I’ve put some of them together at the end of this text. I fully intend to come back to complete some embryonic ideas, such as ‘The Road Gang’
  • 8.
    • I intend to have a break from writing sometime in the late summer, and I will give myself some variety by posting another slide show onto slideShare then. That offering will be a text and visual version of a talk I have given a few times to Mental Health First Aid, an initiative in London. It’s about what has worked for me in mental health and what hasn’t
  • 9.
    • So right now, here are a few connected slide show anecdotes that I haven’t found a use for as yet in my cartoons
