ANDREW GRIFFITHS MDRT 2012 PRESENTATION

  1. 1. The EVOLUTION of Marketing....with Andrew Griffiths
  2. 2. 100 YEAR PLANS
  3. 3. 1. They never doubted they would be around in 100 years.2. They planned ahead for the worst case scenarios.3. They put a lot of thought into these worst case scenarios.4. They worked out how to come out better in every worst case scenario.5. They have made this an ongoing part of their business.
  4. 4. EVOLUTION is all about reacting toexternal events and transforming into something that is better able to survive and thrive in this new environment.
  5. 5. This sounds simple doesn’t it?
  6. 6. MOST businesses struggle to evolve, instead preferring an alternative course of action.
  7. 7. So who am I to have figured this out?
  8. 8. The way we do business is changing, rapidly.....and it won’t ever be the “same” again.
  9. 9. It will never be this easy again...
  10. 10. Our customers are changing as well - at a rate that is tough to deal with.
  11. 11. EVOLUTION is all about how we react to these changes. The big questions is - How has your MARKETING evolved in amongst all of this change?
  12. 12. 9 The 9 most important strategies to adopt when it comes to marketing in a modern world.
  13. 13. 1. Find the passion that “change’ has taken away. You can’t market successfully without passion.
  14. 14. 2. Understand that building your brand is complex and about much more than a logo.
  15. 15. 3. Creativity is a precious commodity - that needs to be nurtured and encouraged. We are pretty certain no tortoises got hurt in the making of this photo........but if they did, it was nothing serious.
  16. 16. 4. Be your businesses “CRASH TEST DUMMY”
  17. 17. 5. We need to be ethicallyunequalled with a high value corporate reputation.
  18. 18. 6. We need to become inspired communicators as part of our marketing journey.
  19. 19. 7. We need to explore the new world of NETWORKING.
  20. 20. 8. When it comes to social media - if you’re not confused you’re not trying hard enough.
  21. 21. 9. Get back to doing the things you used to do - really well.
  22. 22. And last but not last, we need to get serious about having fun in our business.
  23. 23. This can sound like common sense, but....
  24. 24. Common sense ain’t that common...
  25. 25. FAILED TO EVOLVE
  26. 26. This is not that tough...but it does take commitment....Every single day.
  27. 27. 1%
  28. 28. THANK YOU.
