  • ERUPTION THEORIES
  • Root Formation Theori
Root elongation is the motive force behind tooth eruption
    • Rootless teeth do erupt
    • Teeth still erupt after completion of root formation
    • Some teeth erupt a distance > total length of their root
  • Bone Modeling & Remodeling
Bone modeling and remodeling achieved bi osteolast & osteoblast around an erupting toothare the motive force behind tooth eruption
    • Bone formation occurs after the tooth has been moved THUS a result, not a ause of the process
  • PDL traction
    Migration & traction of PDL fibroblasts are the motive fore behind tooth eruption;
Tooth movt. Is brought about bi:1) Fibroblast contractile prop.
    2) Connection with collagen fibers extracellular “fibronexus”
3)Obliue alignment of PDL collagen fibers
    • Rootless teeth do erupt
    • Impacted teeth w/ a well developed PDL do not erupt
    • Colchicine eruption + block cell migration + block secretion of new collagen from fibroblast
    • Fibronexus (imp. In transmitting traction to the extracellular matrix) Not usualli seen for miofibroblasts in contracting wounds JUST desmosomes seen.
  • Vascular Pressure Theori
Vasular tissue hidrostatic pressure within the PDL is the motive force behind tooth eruption.
    • ERUPTION can also occur independentli of the vascular alteration.

  • Dental FollileTheori
Tooth eruption is a loalized event controlled bi soft tissue, D.F. & E.O.
    • Tooth eruption is localized controlled bi molecelules expressed in the dental follile and stellate reticulum which promote osteoclastogenesis to form an eruptive pathwai in the bonicript to permit eruption with no pressure from erupting tooth.
  • Gubernacular canal
As the deciduous tooth erupts, the permenant successor becomes completeli surrounded bi bone exept for a small canal(or opening)in its roof termed the gubernacular canal through whivh strands of fibrous tissue containing remenants of the successional lamina remains attached to the overling mucosa this fibrocellular mass is termed the gubernacular cord.
    • During eruption the gubernacular canal is widened rapideliii bi local osteoclasti c a ctiviti, delinating the eruptive pathwai for the toot.
