The relaxed, warm toned blues of Spring/
Summer 2015 is reminiscent of the breezy
poolside. With variations of tints and an
analagous hue of blue-green.
2. F R E N C H N A V Y
A/W 15.16
Autumn and Winter blues turned to the classics.
Hues remain somewhat muted and warm but with
added shade to represent class and elegance.
3. E L E C T R I C B L U E
S/S 16
Gray and black has been
subtracted from the blues of
Spring 2016, transitioning to a
more intense and saturated
Electric Blue. There is less
variations to electric blue to
maintain its vivid quality.
4. K L E I N E B L U E
A/W 16.17
This season we will move closer
to red on the color wheel as a
touch of purple tone is added.
While closer to red, the color
temperature is cooler than
previous seasons. Tint variations
are applied in apparel while
shades are added for cosmetics
for higher intensity.
5. C O B A L T B L U E
S/S 17
In Spring 2017, we return to
the zone of blues analogous
to A/W 15/16. It’s the classic
French navy with a twist,
made lighter in value and
more soothing to the eye.
6. B L A C K B L U E
A/W 17 Forecast
In response to A/W 15/16,
this season’s blue will
enter a deep, heavily
shaded almost-black navy
blue. This navy will be the
new black – designers
and bloggers have slowly
begun to adapt this color in
different variations – solid,
textured or heathered.
