Slide 2: Telecom

Slide 3: Sloka is a 15 member Bangalore based startup, that is building a low cost distributed WiMAX solution; they gave a live demo of their product at the venue itself (complete with the base & receiving setups). This was the first time they were demoing this publicly. By far, this was the most exciting product demo at Proto.

Slide 4: ValueFirst is a Gurgaon based telecom startup; they made a pitch for their product VelocityPlus, which is an enterprise class, SMS suite. The product has been awarded internationally. The company is looking for funding to expand operations and accelerate growth.

Slide 5: Drishti is Gurgaon based and they showcased their Contact Center Suite aimed at the SME Call center industry. Their pitch was quite comprehensive. They are looking for funding and they seem to have a very compelling case for it.

Slide 6: Unleash is a Chennai based startup that demoed an early stage prototype of their network analysis product. Their pitch was too technical.

Slide 7: Infrastructure & Development Platforms

Slide 8: A Chennai based startup that demoed their data backup product called StoreGrid, meant for small to medium enterprises.

Slide 9: iCreate, a Bangalore based startup demoed their core banking software solution called Vyasa.

Slide 10: This was a demo for a java based portal development platform called Stringbeans. This was from a Pune based startup called Nabh.

Slide 11: Internet/Web 2.0

Slide 12: This was a pre launch preview from a Gurgaon based startup called IXIGO, which is a travel recommendation engine. This is a first on its kind product in India and is different from the travel portals. They had a cool demo..watch out for this product, which is launching this summer. They are looking for funding.

Slide 13: This was a cool demo from a yet to be launched online shopping comparison engine. The site launches this summer… watch out for this promising site

Slide 14: This was another pre-launch preview into Taazza, the news site, that has been in the making for quite some time now. It has added a cool set of features and has the potential to spice up the online news space in India, when it launches (no launch dates ???) …

Slide 15: This was a product walkthrough from the San Francisco/New Delhi based website, that is using the music route to build social networks. Their future plans include creating a kind of (ITunes type) online store for Indian music.

Slide 16: This was a demo of SEraja on the mobile platform. SEraja is a Bangalore based startup that is attempting to create an online repository cum search engine for events.

Slide 17: This was a product overview from the Bangalore based online photo sharing cum publishing website.

Slide 18: Consumer Electronics Smart Pundits

Slide 19: This was a product demo from the Chennai based consumer hardware startup that is attempting to build a low cost PC alternative for extending computing to the masses. Their product is undergoing user trails currently. This is a unique product and they have previously received wide attention for their efforts.

Slide 20: Smart Pundits This was a pitch from a company that has developed a product for automatic headlight direction control for automobiles. They operate in an industry that is dominated by the global auto giants with huge research budgets. The product look convincing and they are exploring various options for taking it to the production stage.

Slide 21: Business & Productivity Tools

Slide 22: DesiCrew is a TENET sponsored company that is attempting to create rural BPOs. This was a concept pitch. Their model has huge potential and they are currently doing pilots.

Slide 23: This was product demo for an online customer response management system from a Bangalore based startup called Genesis.

Slide 24: This was a product walkthrough for a Linux based open source emailing solution. Their pitch was too technical.

Slide 25: This was a product overview for an online Visual collaboration tool from a Chennai based startup called 360Degrees. It was a very well orchestrated demo. Watch out for this innovative product in future…it has huge potential

Slide 26: This was another customer response management product from a Chennai based startup called TenMiles.

Slide 27: This was a pitch from a Chennai based software company which has built a product called ServeIT, which is an enterprise level solution for individualized ERP/CRM applications.

Slide 28: This was a pitch for a Peer–to-Peer (P2P) software services network called Indus Live, which can be used for real time collaboration on documents, media, games in local networks.

Slide 29: Mobile

Slide 30: This was a product demo for a mobile (SMS) based e-learning solution. It works as a simple but effective solution for distributed learning by leveraging on the reach of the mobile.

Slide 31: This was a product walkthrough from a Gurgaon based startup, for a development framework for building enterprise grade solutions (like CRM/ERP) on the mobile platform.

Slide 32: This was a demo for a work-in-progress mobile product called Mpathy, that uses collaborative filtering for delivering targeted SMS based campaigns. This is from a Hyderabad based garage startup.
