  • 3. What Happens To All of the Data We Are Pushing Through AWS? We Sell Subscriptions to Web Publishers, Investment Professionals and PR Professionals Granting Access to Interesting On-Demand Media Data Including: Stats Graphs Trends Patterns Events Based on Every Content Item Published Online by 700 Media Brands. Newspapers, Magazines, TV Stations, Aggregators, Portals, Social Networks On-Demand Media Measurement and Analysis Using Amazon Web Services Amazon Web Services Start-Up Event London, UK

This is Our AWS Set Up Right Now Amazon Elastic Cloud (EC2) • Use both standard and high cpu instances • Standard instances are used for data collection and other non on demand functions • High cpu instances are used for web application hosting, search and analysis Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) • Used for both short term (better I/O performance than disk) and permanent storage • All of our searchable data is stored on EBS file systems Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS) • Starting to experiment with this service to exchange messages and data between our instances, components and modules • It’s a good example of adopting a technology/service to replace a homegrown mechanism that may already work well, but is not part of our services core function or value.
