  • 1. The Great Depression BY: Amanda Wilbert
  • 2. The 1920’s was a very hard time for people because of what we call the Great Depression. The President at the time of this was Hoover and he thought that the Depression was nothing big.
  • 3. People lost their jobs during the depression because the economy was horrible and they didn’t really have a lot of money to pay for their family
  • 4. President Hoover Didn’t really understand how bad the depression was and that it was getting worse and worse as time went on. He never gave people relief or helped them out at all. Hoover thought that the people could take care of themselves and help each other out and that everything would be fine
  • 5. When Roosevelt became president he tried everything in his power to help the people out and help them find ways to care for their family. FDR Created the New Deal to help people out with the Depression. FDR did a lot to try and help the people and not just let them solve the problem by themselves.
  • 6. By the Mid-1930’s some economies started to recover but others lasted till the start of World War II and that was in the 1940’s
  • 7. After the depression the President had to make a law saying that they have to do everything in their power to stop another depression from happening
