About Amanda Clarke is interested in the connection between public governance reform and democratic renewal in the digital age. Her PhD research examines the role of online policy consultations in the decision-making processes of government bureaucracies in Canada and the UK. Her work will inform a series of recommendations regarding contemporary public governance, and the organizational and behavioural features of public institutions that may allow e-consultations and other online engagement exercises to facilitate meaningful citizen participation in the policy process.
Prior to doctoral studies, Amanda worked for Canada’s Parliamentary Information and Research Service.
