We started with our Art History Department’s homepage…

Then we built our website, All Things Visual, using WordPress blog soOware.

We used our “What We Do” statement as an organizing principle on our website.

We also use it as a markeBng tagline.

Our blog is located under the “News” tab of All Things Visual.

News •  Provides a feed of most recent blog entries •  Shows at a glance what we’ve been thinking about

RSS Feed Subscrip)ons •  Lists recent entries from blogs that we ﬁnd relevant •  Acts as an alternaBve to a blogroll •  Includes the following subscripBons: Voice of CWAC (Art History Department blog), HumaniBes Events Calendar, ARTstor’s blog, and the NY Times Arts SecBon

Tags •  Free text, descripBve, searchable •  Show at a glance our favorite blog topics •  Entered only by staﬀ

Categories •  UBlizes a drop-‐down menu for purposeful categorizaBon of blog content •  Includes subject areas and Bme periods, and works as an in-‐progress subject guide to image resources on the web

We promote the Art History Department’s blog, Voice of CWAC, on our blog…

…and they promote All Things Visual on their blog.

We have also created a Facebook page, as has the Department of Art History.

We encourage all of our fans to become fans of the Art History Department’s page, and vice versa.

We integrate all of our blog posts into our Facebook wall feed using Networked Blogs.

We also use a WordPress widget to create a readable version of All Things Visual for mobile devices.

By creaBng All Things Visual, using Facebook, and implemenBng a simple applicaBon for mobile devices, we hope to integrate the VRC into the daily lives of faculty and students.
