    • STATISTICS What music do you like listening to? Rap Classical Indie Pop Rock Reggae I gave my questionnaire to 50% males and 50% females. The most popular music to listen to was Indie, the data says that 90% of people listen to it. Not far behind this was Rock, with 80% of people listening to it.
    • What music magazines would you read? NME Mojo Q Kerrang! Uncut The most popular magazine to read was NME with 70% of people saying they read it. Q and Kerrang! were read by 60% of the people who I asked. This reflects people’s music tastes.
    • Which masthead would attract you to a magazine? Forte Riff Lead Volume ‘Lead’ was the most popular masthead with 70% of the people who I asked saying it was their favourite. No one voted for ‘Volume’, also ‘Riff’ and Forte didn’t have many people vote for it.
    • Which of the following slogans do you prefer? Love Live, Love Lead Hear the Music Music Surrounds You Loud and Live I wanted to know whether I should have a slogan in my music magazine so I came up with some ideas. The data came back as 70% of the people liked ‘Love Live, Love Lead’ which would match the most popular masthead ‘Lead’.
    • How much would you pay for a weekly music magazine? £1 - £1.50 £1.60 - £2.00 £2.10 - £3.00 £3.00 + By looking at this data, most people would be willing to pay £1.60-£2.00 for a weekly music magazine. Nobody ticked the box for £3.00+.
    • What type of image would encourage you to buy a music magazine? Male Group Female Group Mixed Group Female Artist Male Artist 70% of people said that having a Female Artist on the front cover of a magazine would encourage them to buy it. Whereas no-one voted for a female group, it was the least popular. 10% of people said that a male artist as the image would encourage them to buy the magzine.
    • What would you like to see on a contents page of a music magazine? Editors Letter Film Reviews Video game Reviews Downloads Interviews with artists Live Gigs/Festivals Reviews of albums Regulars Interviews were very popular, with 80% of people ticking it. The Editors letter, film reviews and information on gigs and festivals had 70% of people vote for them. These were the most popular sections people would like to see.
    • What type of article do you like to read in a magazine? Reviews of bands/artists 1st Person interviews 3rd Person interviews Information and facts on bands and artists 60% of people said they like 1st Person interviews, the rest voted for reviews and 3rd person interviews. Nobody wanted information and facts on bands and artists.
    • Would you use the internet or other media platforms associated with a magazine? Yes No Every person who I gave the questionnaire said they would use the internet or other media platforms associated with a magazine.
