  • Tableau Helps People Understand Their DataLiberate DataEmpower PeopleDesign For PeopleVisual analytics is a whole new area of analytics. It provides an easier way for us to synthesize and grasp data. And you are experiencing this benefit everyday as a Tableau user.
  • Our mission at Alteryx is to humanize big data and empower data artisans. Instead of requiring business analysts to request analytics from IT teams, and waiting for weeks for data scientists to cleanse, blend and process data Alteryx humanizes Big Data by putting the power of analytics, and the access to data, into the hands of the business analyst – or as we like to call them – the Data Artisan. A person who understands the business and knows what questions need to be asked in order to make relevant and impactful decisions. A person who can look at the data, and decide where to drill in further. Very much in line with Tableau users.
  • Ask yourself a question: each time you want to able to do a new exploration of data, how long does it take you get the right data set together for analysis in Tableau? If you are doing analysis of a single dataset that is already ready to go then the answer is probably not long. However, if you are like most of the organizations out there you are probably dealing with data from not only many sources but also many types?Blending data from multiple sources, and keying it on a particular column. But what about unstructured data such as social media? And what about enriching data with geographical, demographical, or other attributes?
  • A study by Ventana showed that people spend over 2/3rd of the time getting access to or waiting for others to build the dataset they needed. This is because the tools to bring together all the data you need are either in the hands of other people with specialist skills or just take far too long to process the data. This gets even worse when we look at adding analytic data requirements like predictive modeling, segmentation or statistical modeling. Traditional analytical tools like SAS are far too complex and difficult to use, requiring coding and long development cycles. This means you as the driver for change and business improvement just waste time, money and opportunity waiting or working to get the right data
  • AtAlteryx, we want to set the data artisan free. We want to put the ability to enrich data, to perform sophisticated analytics, and then to drive those results into Tableau for visualization and analysis. Time and again we see this process of gathering and enriching data, and applying advanced analytics, performed at much faster speeds, narrowing the time to insight. For example, Experian see data enrichment for millions of rows of data reduced by up to 70% through using AlteryxThis is a combination of Alteryx being fast (we often see speeds of 1/10th to 1/100th of other analytics tools) and being easy to use, putting it in the hands of the data artisan, who can ask the right question and get results quickly, and apply follow up questions just as quickly.
  • Alteryx starts by enabling you to access information wherever you need it – in your data warehouse, in applications like Salesforce, in Big Data tools like Hadoop and MongoDB, and in unstructured sources such as SharePoint and social media. You can integrated and cleanse the data, and then enrich it with other sources – census information, income information such as Experian for consumers, or business information from Dun and Bradstreet, and location information from TomTom. Data artisans can then use the intuitive Alteryx interface to setup graphical workflows to perform analytics – statistical, predictive, or even complex geo-spatial analytics. Geo-spatial analytics is not the same as mapping – it is doing the analytics that can then drive mapping. Analyzing buyers of a particular mosaic group that are within 8 minutes of a potential retail location, for instance. That data can then be driven into Tableau for mapping and visualization. And the process can be run again and again to create different data sets that drive your modeling.
  • Over 200 customers already use Alteryx to solve their strategic analytics and Big Data challenges. These are just a selection of the customers using Alteryx today to drive business process as varied as customer churn reduction, hyper-local merchandizing or menu optimization, retail site selection or even multi-million row data blending. Alteryx has also been recognized as a important player in the Big Data analytics and sophisticated analytics space by Ventana and Wikibon
