    7. Green Mortgages: Results as of August 2009 Infonavit has granted more than 60 thousand green mortgage loans during 2009, of which, almost 50 thousand have been acquired by low income workers with the subsidy from the Federal Government. The cost of the houses goes from USD 15 to 28 thousand and it includes an average of USD 600 in green technology.
    8. Green Mortgages: Considerations While the conversion of housing to green homes in most countries started at the top of the income pyramid, in Mexico it is low-income housing that is being built with energy-saving technologies. And this is not only having a positive impact on the environment, but also on the economies of low-income families as in the country’s reducing the need of investment and subsidy in water and energy infrastructure.
