    • CAREER EXPLORATION FOR THE “ SUCCESS-MINDED”
    • YOUR ROAD AHEAD?
    • WHERE DOES IT LEAD?
    • HARD QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF!
      • Questions Like:
      • Where will this road lead me?
      • Will it bring me success, wealth, and joy?
      • Will it bring hardships, struggles, unhappiness?
      • What can I do to ensure a great future for myself, and for my family?
    • ICE BREAKER TIME!
    • INSTRUCTIONS
      • Take the piece of paper and write your name on the top
      • Then write three things about yourself that most people don’t know
      • Two of them must be the truth
      • One of them must be a lie
    • INSTRUCTIONS
      • Once everyone is done writing, we will:
      • Exchange papers
      • Read them, and
      • See if we can tell which ones
      • are truths and which ones are
      • lies.

    • SIMPLY PUT NO! Unfortunately, there is no test that can magically tell you what to do with the rest of your life.
    • WHERE DO I TURN FOR ANSWERS? SO THEN?
    • THE SLOW LANE
      • It's possible to quickly choose a career. But to find a career that's right for you, it's helpful to slow down, give it some thought, and take the time to get it right.
      • This is useful whether you’re choosing a career for the first time or changing careers for the thirty-first time.
    • THE ANSWER
      • By taking a careful look at your personal values, interests, personal attributes, and skills you can obtain valuable information that will help you in making your decision.

    • TAKING THE WHEEL!
      • Career exploration is not the same as job searching. Job searching is a short-term pursuit of a position that matches your financial and career goals.
      • Career exploration is a long, progressive process of choosing education, training, and jobs that fit your interests and skills.
    • TAKING STOCK
      • Learning what you have to offer an employer is a first step. It’s important to know who you are, as well. People succeed at things that they enjoy easier than in doing things that they don’t enjoy.
    • SELF-ASSESSMENT
      • Self assessment is the process of gathering information about yourself in order to make an informed career decision. It is the first step of the Career Planning Process.
      • What should a self assessment look at? A self assessment should include a look at your values , interests , personality , and skills .
    • STEP ONE
      • VALUE INVENTORIES
      • A value inventories will measure how important different values are to you. Examples of these values, which play an important role in one's job satisfaction, include autonomy, prestige, security, interpersonal relations, helping others, flexible work schedule, outdoor work, leisure time, and high salary.
    • STEP TWO
      • INTEREST INVENTORIES
      • The questions in an interest inventory ask about your likes and dislikes regarding various activities. The premise of this self assessment tool is that people who share similar interests will also enjoy the same type of work. Examples of interests are reading, running, playing golf, and knitting.
    • STEP THREE
      • PERSONALITY INVENTORIES
      • A personality inventory looks at one's individual traits, motivational drives, needs, and attitudes.
      • The most frequently used personality inventory is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). There are many others.
    • STEP FOUR
      • SKILLS INVENTORIES
      • In addition to determining what you're good at, a skills assessment also helps you figure out what you enjoy doing. The skills you use in your career should combine both characteristics. You can use the results of the skills assessment to make some changes by acquiring the skills you need for a particular career.
