  1. 1. Question 4Who would be the audience for your media product?In terms of my target audience, my market research indicatedthat the target audience for my magazine was people femaleand male. The age of the target audience is young adults aged16-19 years old. The majority of my target audience would beunemployed or having a part time job whilst in college oruniversity. The type of music they listen to mostly is pop anddance music. They enjoy reading artist interviews and lookingat photos of the artist. This is was makes a magazine moreappealing to this age group. They only read a few times amonth so they wanted a magazine thatwould be fully detailed so that they don’thave to buy the next issue till the monthafterwards. The participants in the marketresearch stated they mostly read Q magazine. Thishelped me decide on my final product.When looking at my focus group, they were participants aged 16-19years old. They assessed my music magazine and stated they wouldenjoy reading the magazine because it is a young audience relatedmusic magazine. The artist looked modern and unique which issomething you would also find in a Q magazine. Both male andfemale audiences were interested in the magazine and thought that it looked professionaland appealing towards their age group. As the layout of the magazine was different andsophisticated, it became more appealing to the audience. The use of purple, black, whiteand grey helped to make the magazine colourful and appeal to male and femaleaudiences. The font on the magazine was bold and eye catching. This caught the attentionof the audience and the name of the magazine ‘REMIX’ toldthem instantly what the genre of the magazine is based on.Also, as the magazine is aimed at a younger audience, thelayout of the magazine shows plenty of images and youngerrelated cover lines which would make the magazine moreappealing to outgoing 16-19 year olds. To make themagazine more appealing to a female audience, I added afashion section which should help to link the music magazineto festivals and other events that most of the age groupwould be attending this year.
