  1. 2. Cataloguing: Take a digital photo This story shows you how to take a photograph of an artwork and then how to put the photograph onto a computer
  2. 3. Before you start <ul><li>You must have the artist’s knowledge and permission to catalogue the artwork. </li></ul><ul><li>The photo you make is an image that has copyright belonging to the artist. </li></ul><ul><li>Take care of the artwork. Do not let it fall, drop or get dusty. </li></ul>
  3. 4. Equipment: What you will need <ul><li>A digital camera </li></ul><ul><li>A connecting cable </li></ul><ul><li>A computer </li></ul>
  4. 5. Step 1: Select a place to make your photograph <ul><ul><li>You need bright light that is even all over the art work </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Full sunlight can work well </li></ul></ul>
  5. 6. Step 2: Turn your camera on <ul><li>Make sure the batteries have power to take a photo. </li></ul><ul><li>Look through the viewer or at the screen on the camera, then; </li></ul><ul><li>Frame the image. You need to see all of the artwork in the viewer. </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure you give your camera time to focus properly. </li></ul>

  7. 8. Step 3: Taking the photo <ul><li>Hold your camera very still. Put your arms on something to help hold still if you can. </li></ul><ul><li>Push the button on the camera firmly. You should hear a real click. </li></ul><ul><li>Take the photo. </li></ul>
