Visual Rhetoric, September 18, 2013 Visual Rhetoric, September 18, 2013 Presentation Transcript

    • TODAY 1) Type: an intro 2) Type Tools 3) The worst flyer I could find on Google 4) Activity 5) Homework
    • Type: some videos to get us started I want to start us out today with a few videos to give us a little bit of a transition into talking about fonts and typography.
    • Some Font Fun And here are some fun sites we can tinker around with just a bit, to show you that type, like life, can be fun times.
    • How to get nifty fonts You might notice that most computers– even the ones here in the super-slick design-minded labs– don’t have a huge selection of fonts. This can put you at a disadvantage as a creator. But not to worry. Fonts are out there. Let me show you a few cool places to visit.
    • And now… … I wish to prepare you briefly for what is coming on the next slide. The flyer you are about to see is real. While no people were harmed in its creation, I’m pretty sure the first time I saw it, I lost a year off the end of my life. No names have been changed, as no one is innocent.
