colours flow throughout the Digipak
.The artwork stands out, so you can see it on the shelf easily and
may be attracted to go and buy it.
5. Digipaks Analysis
• Prominent colours and artwork so it can stand out on the
shelf. They’re trying to sell you something and if it looks
attractive it’s more likely to sell.
• Colours represent the genre, Nine Inch Nails are dark
industrial rock, the dark colours of their Digipak represent
them well.
• All the panels follow the same theme. They all carry the main
colour-scheme which flows between panels, sometimes
changing, but subtly.
• Like CD cases, the bands’ name is usually displayed on the
front, but sometimes this convention is challenged and the
bands’ name may not be on the front. This usually occurs with
the more alternative or Indie music.
