History • Founded in 2001 – Garrett Camp, Geoff Smith, Justin LaFrance and Eric Boyd • Bought by eBay in 2007 for $75 million – Garrett Camp and Geoff Smith (with some investors) bought it back in 2009 • Has grown to over 10 million users • Exponential growth – In May 2010, an average of 6,500 new profiles were being created each day • 118% growth since 2009 • Has started to be used as a marketing and political tool
