Compare with ECO2 Step1 While the work part is active, invoke the ECO Manager. Change the master document. Select the ModelXLeco1.elt file. When selecting ECO1,the following warning message is displayed. Click OK. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 21
  • 25. Select the ModelXLeco2.elt ECO document, as follows: Compare with ECO2 Step2 Exit to see the differences. Export the result to file by clicking the OK button. 22 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 26. Save the new Diff file,as follows: Activate the Parting assembly, place the new Diff file as shown in the picture below: Compare with ECO2 Step3 Show only the second Diff file. From the Assembly menu, select the Mirror Part option. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 23
  • 27. Select the Diff file, then select the XZ plane as the mirror plane and click OK. From the Assembly menu, select the Assembly Copy option. 24 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 28. Select the UCS of the Layout part as the reference and target UCS. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 25
  • 29. Update the Core Compare with ECO2 Step4 Activate the Diff file. Show the Remove Faces set. Repeat the same operation for the mirror Diff part. Activate the core part. Use the Import Geometry option and click Select All button. To un-select the faces belonging to the cavity, pick the two faces indicated by the arrows in the picture below: 26 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 30. Compare with ECO2 Step5 Delete the duplicated faces. Notice the three faces shown below. The two small faces are identical to part of the first face. Select the three faces, right-click and select Remove Geometry. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 27
  • 31. Repeat the same operation on the mirror side. Compare with ECO2 Step6 Activate the Diff part, show the Add Faces set only. 28 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 32. Repeat the same operation for the mirror Diff part. Activate the core under the movable side. Use the Import Geometry option and then select all entities. Un-select the faces belonging to the cavity indicated by the arrows in the picture below: CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 29
  • 33. Compare with ECO2 Step7 Split the face indicated by the arrow in the picture below: Select the edge shown in the picture below as the splitting edge. 30 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 34. Trim the remaining face with the edge indicated by the arrow in the picture below: Repeat the same operation in the mirror side. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 31
  • 35. Compare with ECO2 Step8 Notice the gap between the parting face and the active face. When dealing with changes that affect the parting faces, the following method is suggested: • Create a new parting face (the correct parting face results from the changes) in the Diff part. You may create it only in the original Diff part (after importing it to the active part). Create a mirror to the parting face within the active part. • Import the parting face geometry to the active parts. • Perform various operations such as, Split, Trim and so on. We will now create a new parting face (extended face) within the Diff part. First activate the Diff part and then create a composite curve as shown in the picture below: 32 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 36. Create an extended face using Extend: Create a new set in the Diff part. Name it Parting Faces and then attach the new face to this set. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 33
  • 37. Compare with ECO2 Step9 Activate the core part. Import (Geometry) the new extend face. Hide the Diff part and the imported face within the core. We will now replace the old parting face with the new one, as follows: Remove the faces (parting faces) indicated by the arrows in the picture below: 34 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 38. Create a composite curve that will later trim the new parting face. Compare with ECO2 Step10 Show the extended face. Trim the face with the contour as shown in the picture below: CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 35
  • 39. Copy the trim face to the mirror side. Use the plane indicated by the arrow in the picture below: Update the Cavity Compare with ECO2 Step11 Activate the Diff part. Turn on only the Remove Faces set. 36 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 40. Repeat the same operation for the mirror Diff part. Activate the K20 part under the Fixed Side. Use the Import Geometry option to select the four faces indicated by the arrows in the picture below: (These are the only faces belongs to the cavity) CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 37
  • 41. Compare with ECO2 Step12 Hide the Diff parts. From the Tools menu, select the Delete Duplicate option. Select all faces and click OK. 38 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 42. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 39
  • 43. Activate the Diff part. Show the Added Faces. Repeat the same for the mirror Diff part. Compare with ECO2 Step13 Activate the K20 part under the Fixed Side. Use the Import Geometry option to import the four faces relevant to the cavity side. 40 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 44. Hide the Diff parts. Zoom into the area marked in red circle. Notice the gap between the active face and the parting face. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 41
  • 45. Compare with ECO2 Step14 Remove the parting faces indicated by the arrows in the picture below: We will now import the updated parting faces from the Diff part. Activate the Diff part. Show the Parting Faces set, as follows: 42 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 46. Note the parting face is to short for the cavity. Edit the Extend feature in the tree. Change the Delta to 200, as shown below: CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 43
  • 47. Compare with ECO2 Step15 Activate the K20 part. Use the Import Geometry option to import the extended face of the two instances. Hide the Diff parts. 44 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
  • 48. Trim the extended face with the edge as indicated by the arrows in the picture below: Perform the Trim operation on the other extended face. CimatronE 8.5 Xelerate ECO Manager 45
  • 49. Copy mirror the two trimmed faces, using the mirror plane indicated by the arrow in the picture below: 46 Xelerate ECO Manager CimatronE 8.5
