The document summarizes activities and projects completed by students in the AL-Bairaq 8th cycle composite materials workshop. It describes 4 activities testing different materials' strength, flexibility, and ability to resist pressure or bending. It also details a design project to build a fishing pole from composite materials and a product idea to make clothes hangers from recycled shopping bags in order to promote environmental protection. Throughout, the students learned about composites and conducting experiments to test new materials and products.

2. • Activity 1: Testing Different Kinds of Ice
• Activity 2: Hunting for Composite Materials
• Activity 3: Exploring the Difference Between
Strength and Stiffness
• Activity 4: testing a foam for Strength and
Stiffness
• Design Project : Designing a Fishing Pole

3. -Composite-
-A combination between two or more visible •
distinct materials to form new materials with
improved properties
Types Of Materials •
4. Activity 1
Testing Different Kinds of Ice
-Materials:
-3 dishes, water, tissues,
wood and lead , traces of
rubber and cotton.
- Procedure.
1- Make three simples of different material .
2- Put the simples in the freezer
3- Testing the theses simples by try to break the simples
5. Simple 1
water
Simple 3
wood and lead ,
traces of rubber
and cotton
Simple 2
water , tissue
Result:
The hardest one is the simple(3) and
the easy one is simple(1).
Conclusion
When we add different material together we get anew
campsite with new properties can be strong or weak.
6. Activity 2 Hunting for Composite Materials
Composite pure object
-Conclusion:
Materials are classified into composites, objects
and pure materials.
7. Activity 3 Exploring the Difference Between Strength and
Stiffness
Objective:
test different types of materials and between strength and
stiffness.
Procedure:
1. We tested each material by its strength and flexibility.
2. Strength by putting pressure on the materials.
3. Flexibility by bending each material.
8. Result Strength Flexibility
Steel nylon
nylon Plastic
wood wood
Plastic steel
pasta pasta
Conclusion:•
Strength is how much the composite will resist against pressure •
force.
Stiffness is how much the composite will resist against applying •
bend or stretch forces.
9. Activity 4
Testing a Foam For Strength and Stiffness
Objective:
Make the foam Strength and Stiffness.
Result
1-The strongest is foam with the two sided.•
2-The weakest is foam only.•
10. Conclusion:
When we added tape to foam from both sides, we had a stiffer
and a stronger foam slice.

11. -Design A Fish pole-
Materials:
2 long straws, 2 small straws, gauze, steel
pulley and tape.
12. Conclusion:
The pole should be strong to carry more weigh, flexible
to avoid breaking and light to be easy to carry.
13. Product Idea
Title: making a clothes hanger out of the shopping bag
Introduction: •
Due to the large number of shopping bags and carry out throwing in the •
trash bins after the completion of the purchase I thought of re-use of
these bags and use them in a clothes hanger industry and so I'm working
on environmental protection after training with the team of Albairaq
Aim of the our project •
Re-use shopping bags .1
Environmental Protection .2
Get on the hanger for clothes .3
14. Hypothesis:
suppose when you are using shopping bags and
folded in a certain way and use cardboard
sheets with them can be a hanger for clothes
.industry.
15. Making A Clothes Hanger Out Of The Shopping Bag
our product story:
After our study of the composite with Bairaq team and
do many activities for the composite studied what
there is around us in our society and how it can be
used to keep our state Qatar clean and healthy.
After viewing the idea Ali Bairaq team suggested we
conduct experiments and test the durability of the
product
16. Making A Clothes Hanger Out Of The Shopping Bag
Results:
Our product is used in the hanging clothes and keep the clean
environment where he is working to recycle shopping bags and
boxes of fruit and leaves cartoon
We were able to hangers industry, but first we have a difficult
hang heavy clothing and to overcome the problem was to
strengthen our project wooden panels that are used in the
manufacture of fruit boxes to withstand heavy clothes hanger.

18. Making A Clothes Hanger Out Of The Shopping Bag
Recommendations:
Suggests when manufacturing our product, please
search the possibility of the use of plastic bags and
please try to cut the bags of sides in order to fit all
kinds of clothes
19. Conclusions
We enjoy AL-Bairaq workshop and know new
things about composites materials.
We learn how to create new things like our
project and it will help in saving our
environment.
20. Acknowledgment
Thank to all people, teachers, friends, and our school that
supported us during our journey in AL-Bairaq project.
Also we would like to thank AL-Bairaq team and the sponsors
who gave us the opportunity to participate in AL-Bairaq project,
create and innovate.
