  • 1. Work Out Your Own SALVATION Philippians 2:12-13 Ephesians 2:8-10
  • 2. Philippians 2:12-13 <ul><li>12. So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13. for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure. </li></ul>
  • 3. If you have a problem… <ul><li>“work it out” </li></ul><ul><li>Man has a problem </li></ul><ul><ul><li>However, it is a bigger problem than we can handle </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Look at the world in which we live </li></ul></ul>Sin
  • 4. The most direct effect of sin <ul><li>Separation from God </li></ul><ul><li>Isaiah 59:1-2 </li></ul><ul><li>Behold, Jehovah's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear. </li></ul>

Working ON the problem <ul><li>God has provided a WAY </li></ul><ul><ul><li>To remove sin: forgiveness </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Available through GRACE </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Jesus is the WAY </li></ul><ul><ul><li>John 14:6 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Acts 4:12 (the ONLY way) </li></ul></ul>
  • 6. Acts 2:36-41 <ul><li>The message: </li></ul><ul><li>Christ was crucified & resurrected </li></ul><ul><li>“what shall we do?” – vs. 37 </li></ul><ul><li>REPENT & BE BAPTIZED – vs. 38 </li></ul><ul><li>The promise: Salvation – vs. 39 </li></ul><ul><li>A calling… an admonition… </li></ul>

SAVE YOURSELVES <ul><li>Acts 2:40 And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation. </li></ul><ul><li>vs. 41 They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls. </li></ul>
  • 8. <ul><li>For by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; </li></ul>Grace Faith Works

  • 13. Whose responsibility? <ul><li>It is my own responsibility to work out my own salvation </li></ul><ul><li>You must be born again – John 3:3-7 </li></ul><ul><li>Why do you delay? – Acts 22:16 </li></ul><ul><li>You must “change” </li></ul><ul><li>You must “live” a new life in Christ </li></ul>
