    1. Work Out Your Own SALVATION Philippians 2:12-13 Ephesians 2:8-10
    2. Philippians 2:12-13
      • 12. So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13. for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.
    3. If you have a problem…
      • “work it out”
      • Man has a problem
        • However, it is a bigger problem than we can handle
        • Look at the world in which we live
      Sin
    4. The most direct effect of sin
      • Separation from God
      • Isaiah 59:1-2
      • Behold, Jehovah's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear.
    5. Working ON the problem
      • God has provided a WAY
        • To remove sin: forgiveness
        • Available through GRACE
      • Jesus is the WAY
        • John 14:6
        • Acts 4:12 (the ONLY way)
    6. Acts 2:36-41
      • The message:
      • Christ was crucified & resurrected
      • “what shall we do?” – vs. 37
      • REPENT & BE BAPTIZED – vs. 38
      • The promise: Salvation – vs. 39
      • A calling… an admonition…
    7. SAVE YOURSELVES
      • Acts 2:40 And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation.
      • vs. 41 They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls.
      • For by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
      Grace Faith Works

        • If we do nothing… we will be lost

    12. Whose responsibility?
      • It is my own responsibility to work out my own salvation
      • You must be born again – John 3:3-7
      • Why do you delay? – Acts 22:16
      • You must “change”
      • You must “live” a new life in Christ
