  • 1. Our God is Awesome Psalms 4 1. Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness; Thou hast set me at large when I was in distress: Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 2. O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor? How long will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood?[Selah 3. But know that Jehovah hath set apart for himself him that is godly: Jehovah will hear when I call unto him. 4. Stand in awe, and sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. [Selah 5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in Jehovah. 6. Many there are that say, Who will show us any good? Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. 7. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than they have when their grain and their new wine are increased. 8. In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; For thou, Jehovah, alone makest me dwell in safety. Psalm 22 22. I will declare thy name unto my brethren: In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee. 23. Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him; All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel. 24. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard. 25. Of thee cometh my praise in the great assembly: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. 26. The meek shall eat and be satisfied; They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him: Let your heart live for ever. 27. All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah; And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. 28. For the kingdom is Jehovah's; And he is the ruler over the nations. Psalm 33 6. By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: He layeth up the deeps in store- houses. 8. Let all the earth fear Jehovah: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9. For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. 1
  • 2. Psalm 119 159. Consider how I love thy precepts: Quicken me, O Jehovah, according to thy lovingkindness. 160. The sum of thy word is truth; And every one of thy righteous ordinances endureth for ever. 161. Princes have persecuted me without a cause; But my heart standeth in awe of thy words. 162. I rejoice at thy word, As one that findeth great spoil. 163. I hate and abhor falsehood; But thy law do I love. Malachi 2 1. And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3. Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and ye shall be taken away with it. 4. And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant may be with Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts. 5. My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might fear; and he feared me, and stood in awe of my name. 6. The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity. 7. For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts. Exodus 32 25. And when Moses saw that the people were broken loose, (for Aaron had let them loose for a derision among their enemies,) 26. then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Whoso is on Jehovah's side, let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. 27. And he said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Put ye every man his sword upon his thigh, and go to and fro from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. 28. And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. 29. And Moses said, Consecrate yourselves to-day to Jehovah, yea, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. 2
  • 3. Deuteronomy 33 8. And of Levi he said, Thy Thummim and thy Urim are with thy godly one, Whom thou didst prove at Massah, With whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah; 9. Who said of his father, and of his mother, I have not seen him; Neither did he acknowledge his brethren, Nor knew he his own children: For they have observed thy word, And keep thy covenant. 10. They shall teach Jacob thine ordinances, And Israel thy law: They shall put incense before thee, And whole burnt-offering upon thine altar. 11. Bless, Jehovah, his substance, And accept the work of his hands: Smite through the loins of them that rise up against him, And of them that hate him, that they rise not again. Matthew 12 22. Then was brought unto him one possessed with a demon, blind and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the dumb man spake and saw. 23. And all the multitudes were amazed, and said, Can this be the existemi, from son of David? G1537 and G2476; 24. And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons bewitch, wonder. cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. 28. But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. 29. Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30. He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. 29. Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30. • 5. And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But … Acts 13:12 …deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. How did Jesus amaze and astonish the people? With His power / miracles: Matthew 12:23, Mark 2:12, 5:42, 6:51, Luke 8:56, 9:43 ! Luke 4:33-36 And in the synagogue there was a man, that had a spirit of an unclean demon; and he cried out with a loud voice, 34. Ah! what have we to do with thee, Jesus thou Nazarene? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. 35. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst, he came out of him, having done him no hurt. 36. And amazement came upon all, and they spake together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. ! Luke 9:42-45 And as he was yet a coming, the demon dashed him down, and tare him grievously. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. 43. And they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marvelling at all the things which he did, he said unto his disciples, 44. Let these words sink into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered up into the hands of men. 45. But they understood not this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. With His teaching / doctrine: Matthew 7:28, 13:54, 22:23, Mark 1:22, 6:2, 11:18, Luke 2:27, 48, 4:32 John 7 14. But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. 15. The Jews therefore marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? 16. Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me. 17. If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself. 18. He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. 19. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me? 5
  • 6. 20. The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon: who seeketh to kill thee? 21. Jesus answered and said unto them, I did one work, and ye all marvel because thereof. 22. Moses hath given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath ye circumcise a man. 23. If a man receiveth circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are ye wroth with me, because I made a man every whit whole on the sabbath? 24. Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. 25. Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? 26. And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ? 27. Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is. 28. Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. 29. I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me. 30. They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come. 31. But of the multitude many believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than those which this man hath done? 32. The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him. 33. Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while am I with you, and I go unto him that sent me. 34. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come. 35. The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go unto the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36. What is this word that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come? 37. Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. 38. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. 39. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified. 40. Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is of a truth the prophet. 41. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee? 42. Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? 43. So there arose a division in the multitude because of him. 6
  • 7. 44. And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. 45. The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why did ye not bring him? 46. The officers answered, Never man so spake. 47. The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray? 48. Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? 49. But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed. 50. Nicodemus saith unto them (he that came to him before, being one of them), 51. Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth? 52. They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. 53. [And they went every man unto his own house: Luke 8 22. Now it came to pass on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples; and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake: and they launched forth. 23. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. 24. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, We perish. And he awoke, and rebuked the wind and thaumazo, from the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
