Detailed causes regarding o ccu p ational health and safety can be found in the O rdinance of the Minister of Economy and Work of 27 July, 2004 regarding training in the field of occupational health and safety (JL No 180, item 1860 with amendments ). Rules for conducting the position training LEGAL BASIS

    • The position training is conducted prior to letting the following persons work at a given position:
    • A worker employed at a labour position or some other at which he/ she may be exposed to factors harmful to health, stren u ous or dangerous,
    • A worker transformed to the position discussed in 1,
    • A student undergoing student’s training.

    • The position training is also conducted in case of mechanical-organizational changes at a certain position, particularly:
    • Processing-related changes,
    • Changes in the organization of work positions,
    • When the use of substances harmful to health are being introduced,
    • When new or altered tools, machines and other devices are being used,
    The worker employed at such position undergoes the position training whose aim is to prepare him/ her to perform his/ her work safe t y in changed conditions. The topic and how long the training l e ss depend on the kind and scope of the introduced changes. Rules for conducting the position training WHEN SHOULD THE TRAINING BE CONDUCTED?
  • 5. ATTENTION!!! The worker performing work at more than one position should undergo the training at each of these positions. Rules for conducting the position training WHEN SHOULD THE TRAINING BE CONDUCTED?

    • The duration of the training should be dependent on professional preparation of the worker, job tenure as well as the kind of work and potential threats of a given position at which the worker is to be employed, however, no sorter than 8 hours.

The position training is conducted by a person managing workers and designated by the employer or by the employer him-/ herself, if they have the right qualifications and are trained in methods of conducting the position training.     • The position training ends with a test of knowledge and skills of performing work in accordance with the rules of occupational health and safety, and such test is the basis of allowing the worker to perform work at a given position.

    • The aim of the position training is to obtain by the worker:
    • Information about factors of work environment at the position he/ she is to work at and in its immediate surrounding as well as about the occupational risk connected with the performed work;
    • Knowledge and skills regarding ways of protection against accident threats and health hazards in the conditions of both regular work and emergency situations;
    • Knowledge and practical skills connected with performing inducted work safely.

    • The position training should ensure that the participants of the training become familiar with:
    • Factors of work environment characteristic for their positions,
    • Occupational risk connected with the performed work;
    • Ways of protection against threats potentially posed by these factors;
    • Methods of performing work safety at these positions.

    • An introductory interview of the instructor with the trainee,
    • Presentation and explanation by the instructor the whole work process which is to be carried out by the worker,
    • A trial performance of the work process by the worker while having the instructor correct the ways of performing work,
    • Unassisted work of the trainee under supervision,
    • Testing and assessment by the instructor the way of performing work by the trainee.
    The training should be conducted in the form of a crash course – at the position at which the worker undergoing the training will be employed, based on a detailed program designer by the training organizer, e.g. according to the following proposal, and it should include these stages: STAGES OF THE POSITION TRAINING Rules for conducting the position training
