  • 1. Contemporary Traditional Maori Culture, Part 1 "Who are the Maori"
  • 2. The Maori are an indigenous culture of New Zealand
  • 3. New Zealand is a large island in the South Pacific Ocean off the south east coast of Australia.
  • 4. Some contemporary Maori are still traditional, some     live non-traditional, modern lives. As you can see the right picture has and modern Maori with a shirt and other clothings
  • 5. One of the tradition of the Maori culture is the Haka war dance.It is no longer performed before war but is used for ceremonial purposes.
  • 6. Another tradition of the Maori is the having Tattoos on their body's or around the face with dark arching patterns.
  • 7. The traditional Maori culture truly is magnificent and has a lot of things different than other tribes.
  • 8. Sadly, like other conquered indigenous peoples, many Maori struggle with poverty, alcoholism and drug abuse
