“ AirPal®-Patient Transfer Systems, Inc. has updated its website with new content for
sales support. Improvements to the website include the posting of a new section to

”
Center Valley, PA (PRWEB) October 30, 2009 -- AirPal®-Patient Transfer Systems, Inc. has
created a new section on its website to house data sheets in one easily accessible location. All
of the company's data sheets are available in .pdf file format and are accessible via the main
menu at www.airpal.com.
Regarding the recent updates to the website, Jim Weedling, AirPal's® President said, "We have
embarked on a mission to make all of our materials more accessible, interactive, and pertinent
to the needs of our existing and future customers." Jim went on to say, "AirPal has a vision for
its website where it is a destination for training, support, and most importantly education... not
just for promotion of our products, but for the promotion of Safe Practices for Patient
Handling." Not surprisingly, AirPal's® catchphrase is "Best Choice for Best Practice®."
AirPal®-PTS, Inc. pioneered air assisted lateral patient transfer, bringing the first commercially
available system to market in 1984. The AirPal® Platform Patient Transfer System was
specifically designed to address the high incidence of injuries resulting from patient handling.
The AirPal® System is compatible with "Safe Patient Handling Programs" and no-lift work
environments. Operation is simple and straight forward and especially suited to Special
Populations, such as burn victims, patients with open wounds, and patients undergoing
bariatric treatments, since the forces that act against a patient during transfer are largely
eliminated by the AirPal® System. Additionally, special medical fabrics used to construct
AirPal's® Patient Transfer Systems, assist in the care of skin by conforming to pressure
management surfaces, and provide special characteristics for stretch and cushioning.
No hoists or heavy mechanical apparatus are needed for horizontal patient transfer with the
AirPal® System. Unlike traditional patient lifts that require special attachments and apparatus
for horizontal patient transfer; the device that AirPal® pioneered and brought to market has an
underside that is perforated for air release. The device is attached to an air supply which forces
a constant flow of high volume/low pressure air which causes the device to inflate a semi-rigid
surface (or 'platform') for patient transfers or positioning. Upon inflation, air escapes out
through the perforations on the bottom of the device. A frictionless surface, literally a
"cushion" of air, is formed upon which the patient is moved in comfort and almost effortlessly.

A typical AirPal® Platform Patient Transfer System consists of the Inflatable Patient Transfer Pad
and AirPal's® compact Air Supply and Hose (AirPal® also includes a reusable protective liner
with every system it sells). An optional accessory is the AirPal® Stand; a storage and mobility
solution. AirPal® Platform Patient Transfer Systems are available in a variety of widths, to
accommodate patients of different sizes. Several configurations are available and are
distinguished by two available patient surfaces as well as specialty systems for specific
applications like trauma. Versions of AirPal's® Systems are also available in half lengths that
facilitate positioning requirements encountered in urology, obstetrics, and etc. AirPal's® latest
innovation, the RAMP® System (Rapid Airway Management Positioner) builds upon AirPal's®
focus on air assisted medical technologies and integrates an air controlled patient positioning
system for airway management with the transfer capability of the AirPal® Platform Patient
Transfer System. Data sheets for all of the products mentioned here can now be found in one
easily accessible location at www.airpal.com.
