Announces a Five Years Warranty Program
“ Advances in materials and manufacturing techniques have enhanced the extremely

warranty, AirPal® PTS, Inc. seeks to offer a tangible advantage to those who purchase
AirPal® PTS, Inc. products based on value, the quality of materials used, and
construction techniques. AirPal® PTS, Inc. is most noted for their "Platform" line of
lateral patient transfer devices. These devices create an inflatable patient surface while
a constant volume of air escapes from beneath. The escaping air reduces the plane of

friction, and allows for safe lateral transfers of physically dependent or injured patients
with less risk of injury to the caregiver.
Center Valley, PA (PRWEB) May 14, 2009 -- AirPal® Patient Transfer Systems, Inc. has begun
offering a limited five year warranty on its entire line of air-assisted lateral patient transfer and
positioning devices including their newest offering, the AirPal® RAMP® (Rapid Airway
Management Positioner). Jim Weedling, President of AirPal® PTS, Inc. said, "Traditionally
manufacturers in this product segment have offered one year warranties... we wanted a way to
recognize our customers who purchase from us based upon the quality of materials we use as
well our proven methods of construction."
Material enhancements include the use of mil spec high tensile strength nylon webbing for
handholds and AirPal's® patented extended ergonomic handles. AirPal® employs thermoplastic
fabric composites which are strong, durable, antimicrobial, antistatic, flame resistant, stain,
odor, and fluid resistant. The fabrics AirPal® utilizes have been specifically engineered for use in
medical environments and have special characteristics for pressure management and stretch.
Most notably AirPal® uses a fabric with a new waterproof coating that does not break down
from heat exposure. Similar competing products are known to employ a urethane based
coating susceptible to heat damage during laundry cycles. Said Jim Weedling, "Taking
advantage of the material enhancements developed by our supplier is a significant reason why
we are able to offer the five year warranty." "Heat damage from laundry cycles can become so
severe that the only option is replacement," said Jim Weedling.
Construction of AirPal's® products include both heat sealing and sewn construction. AirPal®
uses heat sealing on their AirPal® RAMP® product where an airtight seal is required for the air
chambers used to position a patient for direct laryngoscopy. AirPal® double stitches all seams
and attachment points. Robert Weedling, COO of AirPal® said, "From a cost standpoint heat
sealing is the way to go... however, our experience showed an unacceptable failure rate along
heat sealed seams and attachment points that were subjected to repetitive stresses during
transfers and positioning of patients."

AirPal's® competitors claim that heat sealed products eliminate needle holes and enhance
infection control. However, AirPal® quickly points out that sewn construction techniques are
still commonly found on heat sealed products.
"We took a different approach, so that we could maintain the strength and durability of our
products," said, Robert Weedling. AirPal® employs a top layer of specially designed medical
fabric that covers seams in the patient's footprint. The top layer is perimeter sewn to minimize
stitch lines. AirPal® also includes a patented protective liner with all Standard AirPal® Platforms.
The liner is securely held in place and covers exposed surfaces including sidewalls, from fluids
and soiling. The patented liner can be reused or customers can opt to purchase a disposable
version.
