    • Tingimuslaused koosnevad
      • kõrvallausest , mis algab sidesõnaga if ja milles esitatakse tingimus ( If clause)
      • pealausest , milles tingimus realiseerub ( Main clause)
    • Type 0
      • Üldine tõde
      • Kasutatakse, kui tahetakse väljendada midagi,mis alati toimub (nt:loodusjõud)
      • If clause – verb on Present simple
      • Main clause – verb on Present simple
      • If it rains , the roads get slippery and dangerous.
      • If the temperature falls below zero, water freezes .
    • Type 1
      • Reaalne tingimus olevikus
      • Kasutatakse, et väljendada reaalset või võimalikku olukorda olevikus või tulevikus.
      • If clause – verb on Present Simple/ present cont./ present perfect/ present perfect cont.
      • Main clause - verb Future/ imperative can/ may/ might/ must/ should/ could + present bare infinitive
      • If I have time ,I will travel to London.
      • If we work hard, we will finish the project on time.
    • Type 2
      • Ebareaalne tingimus olevikus
      • Kasutatakse, et väljendada oletust või mis juhtuks, kui tingimus täidetakse.
      • Kasutatakse ka nõu andmiseks.
      • If clause – past simple/ past cont.
      • Main clause – would/ could/ might+ present bare infinitive.
      • If I didn’t have to work such long hours, I wouldn’t be so tired.
      • If I had a lot of money, I wouldn’t stay here.
    • Type 3
      • Ebareaalne tingimus olevikus
      • Kui minevikus oleks mingi tingimus täidetud, siis oleks mingi sündmus, juhtum jne, toimunud.
      • Kasutatakse ka, et väljendada kahetsust ja kriitikat
      • If clause – past perfect/ past perfect continuous
      • Main clause – would /could/might + perfcet bare infinitive
      • If I had studied , I would have passed the exams.
      • If I had seen you I would have helped you.
    • Mixed conditionals
      • If – clause Main - clause
      • Type 2 - Type 1
      • If she got back late she won’t come last night, to work today
      • Type 2 - Type 3
      • If you were more you wouldn’t have spoken sensible, to your boss like that.
      • Type 3 - Type 2
      • If she hadn’t missed she would be here now. the bus,
    • Past --> Present I had taken an aspirin, I wouldn't have a headache now. Past --> Future If I had known that you are going to come by tomorrow, I would be in then. Present --> Past If she had enough money, she could have done this trip to Hawaii.
      • Present --> Future
      • If I were you, I would be spending my vacation in Seattle. Future --> Past
      • If I weren't flying to Detroit, I would have planned a trip to Vancouver. Future --> Present
      • If I were taking this exam next week, I would be high-strung.
    • If and When
      • If Tom comes, he will bring me a present.
      • Juhul, kui Tom tuleb, toob ta mulle kingituse.
      • When Tom comes, he will bring me a present.
      • Siis, kui Tom tuleb, toob ta mulle kingituse.
      • Esimeses lauses pole kindel, kas Tom tuleb. Teises lauses on kindel, aga ei tea, millal ta tuleb.
