ERPA Archive

 1. 1. ERPA Archive An ERPA Archive Tool for PeopleSoft Databases Version 1.0  A Product by ERP Analysts, Inc.  2005 ERP Analysts
 2. 2. Introduction In ERP Applications, Databases are growing exponentially and becoming more complex for maintenance. Considering high volume of data and customer-facing in PeopleSoft applications, it is very important for the customers to maintain their applications to respond very quickly. For every production database application, multiple copies exist for Development, Testing and Training databases. While refreshing these databases with production copy, the seldom-accessed data also copied to the respective environments. In reality, we do not require seldom-accessed data to these environments. This led the customers to think about moving seldom-accessed data to off-line storage devices. As industry ERP leaders, we understand PeopleSoft customers better than anyone and we are developing custom PeopleSoft Archival tool, which has the superior qualities than existing Archives products. And moreover, this is a product from PeopleSoft experts.
 3. 3. Two-Fold Approach

We followed two-fold approach for our Archive process.

Archive : Archive the data which qualifies pre-defined Archive rules and move it to online storage devices called as History Database

Retire : We recommend our customers do not purge the data. Just retire it. Based on legalities, identify the data and move from online to offline low cost storage devices.

 4. 4. Flexibility

Our Tools comes with standards business rules which determines the data to be archived. And we also know most ERP applications are not just vanilla implementations. By considering this, our tool provide flexibility towards

Defining custom Archive business rules

Defining custom tables for Archiving

Defining custom indexes

Differential Setup Data Archiving

Defining Flexible Inter module constraint rules

 5. 5. Module Constraints ERP implementation is not just one modules. If one module Transactions are dependent on other modules Transactions, our tools’ preset rules ensures all inter modules constraints are satisfied. Ex: Purchase order will not be Archived until it satisfies Voucher Archive criteria Purchase Order (PO1) Voucher (VCHR1) ERPA ARCH I VE PROCESS CUSTOM ARCH I VE R ULE S ARCHIVE ENGINE If Inter module constraints satisfied A R C H I V E R U L E S F O R AP PO1 ARCHIVED YES
 6. 6. After Archive After Archive tools moves the data from current active database, there is a need to resize / shrink / Re-organize current production database. Our tools does this automatically after every Archive process. This process ensures performance improvement on Production database .
