    • OUR PROFILE The Zambeef Products PLC Group is one of the largest agri-businesses in Zambia and the region, involved in the production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, pork, chickens, eggs, milk, dairy products, edible oils, flour and bread throughout Zambia and West Africa. The company is also one of the largest cropping operations in Africa with 5 000 hectares under irrigation of row crops. The Group is in the process of rolling out a 20 000 hectare palm plantation with a 3 000 hectare pilot project underway Zamleather Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, is involved in the tanning of hides for export to the Far East and Europe as well as the production of finished leather, shoes and industrial footwear, mainly for the domestic and regional markets. 4

    • 29 GROWTH PROSPECTS EXPANSION OF ZAMANITA Investment in upgrading and increasing the capacity of the Oil Seed Crushing plant and the Oil Refinery, AND expansion of the Plas- tics Division. Continued synergistic opportunities from Zamanita are taken advantage of to provide better value to all stakeholders of the Zambeef Group. SETUP OF PIGGERY Investment in setting up a new piggery which will house 1 000 sows with ability to provide in excess of 400 pigs per week as throughput to Master Pork. PALM PLANTATION Completion of planting of balance of 3 000 hectares of palm from main nursery as part of pilot phase. Upon verification of fresh fruit bunch yields, to expand plantation to 20 000 hectares. GROWTH IN WEST AFRICA Zambeef expects strong growth in West Africa with new outlets due to open and the completion of the new pork processing plant in Lagos. Expansion on primary production and processing facilities with lease of 400 acre farm in the Ogun State with set up of feedlotting, poultry houses, abattoir and meat processing plant, and farming. RETAILING Greater focus on the retailing operations of the Group with improved product reach & efficiency, with new regional hub set up in Copperbelt and expansion into DRC and the region. Refurbishment and launch of ‘New Look’ Zambeef Retail Outlets. STOCK FEED Commencement of new stock feed plant under Novatek to service Zambeef internal requirements and third party clients and add maximum value to the protein by-product from Zamanita. CROPPING Obtain efficiencies from the completed irrigation expansion of up to 2 200 hectares at Chiawa Farms.
