  6. 6. Thanksgiving Day is a holiday celebrated primarily in the United States andCanada. Thanksgiving is celebrated each year on the second Monday of October inCanada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Because ofthe longstanding traditions of the holiday, the celebration often extends to theweekend that falls closest to the day it is celebrated. Several other places aroundthe world observe similar celebrations. Historically, Thanksgiving had roots inreligious and cultural tradition. Historically, Thanksgiving began as a tradition ofcelebrating the harvest of the year. (Source: Wikipedia)“Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work and the simple life...a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty ofseedtime and harvest, the ripe product of the year - and the deep, deep connectionof all these things with God. “ Ray Stannard Baker (David Grayson)
