This online resource has been developed specifically (but not exclusively) for practitioners who provide in-house or external training in climate change adaptation strategies/action plans, or on how to effectively incorporate climate change adaptation into existing planning processes.
The information will be of relevance to both public and private sector organisations, and may be of particular interest to those involved in spatial planning, environmental and sustainability policy, emergency planning and corporate strategy
While this is not a teacher training service, it is worth highlighting that some of the fundamental challenges and barriers to effective climate adaptation stem from how information is communicated.
Drawing upon Malcolm Knowles Assumptions of Motivation in Adult learning (1970, 1984) we consider how a range of adult learning methods and strategies (andragogy), can be addressed in a workshop setting. We believe incorporating these premises of adult learning motivation will aid trainers in delivering their own bespoke training events.
