    express their brands
    increase engagement
  • 3. Where have my Pages gone?
Your pages haven't disappeared, just type in facebook.com/yourpagename and it will appear
If you manage several pages you can use this link http://www.facebook.com/FacebookPages/manage
  • 4. Key Changes
Pictures will be displayed at the top of your wall
Tabs are gone and navigation is on the left
    The page has independence
E-mail alerts for new activity are available
Wall posts appear based on popularity
  • 5. Key Changes
    Updating Fans is easier
    Page Categories have increased
    Re-sized profile pic and canvas
    Feature your Page’s favourites
    FBML is going
    iFrames are on the way
  • 6. Switch from Profile to Page
  • 7. To Manage Multiple Pages
    Select the page you want
  • 8. Pictures at the top of your wall
The top of your Pagerandomly shows the five most recent photos that you have published or tagged
To remove an image, simply hover over the image and click X
Photos from people who like your Page will not be seen
  • 9. Tabs are gone
Your ‘tabs’ at the top seem to have disappeared
They’ve been replaced with Navigation links on the left hand side, like personal profiles
  • 10. The Page has Independence
Admins can assume the brand identity
This means ‘pages’ can now ‘like’ other brands
Your Page can make comments on other Pages
Previously only your personal profile could do this
  • 11. E-mail alerts
The new page system means you will get an email every time someone posts to your page or makes a comment!
You can opt out, but you cannot control the number of emails you get a day, it’s ‘as it happens’ or nothing
TIP: Set up separate email address for Facebook and filter emails into folder
  • 12. To Change Email Notifications
    2 – SELECT Your Settings
1 – SELECT the page to edit
3 – Opt in or out for notifications
  • 13. Wall Posts based on popularity
Wall posts appear based on popularity, not in chronological order
The ‘admin view’ shows posts in chronological order
You now have two Wall filters
Posts by your Page only and
    Top posts from Everyone
  • 14. Wall Filters
    1 – SELECT Manage Permissions
2 – Select what shows on the wall (a) everyone, i.e. comments etc from ‘fans’ or (b) only posts you make to the Page
  • 15. Updating Fans is easier
You can update your status, ask a question, post photos, share a link, or record/upload Video
These posts will appear in the News Feed, on people's home pages who have already "Liked" your Page as well as your Page's wall
You can send updates, to the people who have "Liked" your Page and these appear in the 'other' folder in their messages
  • 16. To Send Updates
    4 – Prepare message
    1 – SELECT Marketing
    2 – Send an update
    3 – Continue as ‘You’
  • 17. Page Categories have increased
    Public Figures
    Music Artists and Bands
    Athletes
    Communities
    Non-Profits
    Government
    Politics
    School Communities
    Bloggers
    Brands
    Focuses on products
    Local Business
Focuses on the location and your opening hours, parking etc
    Non-Profits
  • 18. Re-sized profile pic and canvas
The profile picture size (usually your logo) for Pages has changed from 200x600 to 180x540
    Most pictures still look ok
The size of the canvas has changed from 520px to 500 px which may impact existing FBML pages and designers may need to adjust the page
  • 19. Feature your Page’s favourites
2 – Tick Pages to feature
3 – Ignore or add specific page owners (i.e. the admins)
    1 – SELECT Featured
  • 20. FBML is going
Facebook will remove static FBML pages on 11 March 2011
This means you can’t add new FBML tabs to a Page
If you already have existing apps using FBML and static FBML, these will continue to work, although you’re advised to upgrade these
  • 21. iFrames are on the way
Page Tab apps can be built using iFrames
This means you can build apps that run across Facebook using standards-based web programming model (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
