Innovation Wexford <ul><li>Innovation Wexford is the trade name of Wexford Community Development Association </li></ul><ul><li>A voluntary Community Organisation with charitable status </li></ul><ul><li>Commenced Operations in 1986 </li></ul><ul><li>Board Structure drawn from Wexford’s Community, Business and Professional sectors </li></ul><ul><li>Assisted in the creation of over 800 jobs and directly employs 27 Full & Part time staff </li></ul><ul><li>Mission: To support the creation of sustainable employment through the encouragement and stimulation of private and co-operative enterprise in County Wexford </li></ul>

Celtic Enterprises <ul><li>Celtic Enterprises is a joint venture between Innovation Wexford and Wexford County Enterprise Board. </li></ul><ul><li>The scheme aims to expand and add practical enterprise experiences to the current enterprise education programs in second level schools. </li></ul><ul><li>Delivery of certification for teachers in enterprise education in association with Waterford Institute of Technology </li></ul><ul><li>Each year over 700 students within County Wexford participates within the programme. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Innovation Wexford launched Recycling 2000 in 1995 as an environmental and job creation division. </li></ul><ul><li>Supported by Pobal, Recycling 2000 specialises in the collection of approximately 1500 tones per annum of newspaper from a selection of Collection Points. </li></ul><ul><li>The paper is used in the production of animal bedding materials, which are sold extensively throughout Southern Ireland and is now exported into the UK. </li></ul><ul><li>An integral part of the Initiative involves working with primary schools throughout County Wexford by delivering environment awareness to over 4000 students per annum and financially contributing to each schools green flag committees. </li></ul>Recycling 2000

Recycling 2000 <ul><li>The main objectives of the project are: </li></ul><ul><li>To promote and develop an environmental education and awareness culture within County Wexford. </li></ul><ul><li>To create employment within the Project itself, and to develop work and life skills for individuals suffering social disadvantage, disability and marginalisation. </li></ul><ul><li>With the support of Pobal through the Community Services Programme, Recycling 2000 has created an additional 13 full and part time jobs to those created within other Innovation Wexford Projects. </li></ul><ul><li>To work towards improving the environment in which we live and reduce the amount of waste entering landfill. </li></ul><ul><li>To provide a professional and necessary service to the local community. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Paper Bedding: </li></ul><ul><li>Recycling 2000 has developed a range of Animal Bedding materials, which have many distinct advantages over traditional materials. Old Newspapers are transformed into safe environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials. The paper bedding is available all year round at economic rates. </li></ul><ul><li>Main Advantages: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Biodegradable </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Dust Free </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Absorbent </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Economical </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Availability </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Approximately 70,000 - 20kg bales manufactured annually </li></ul><ul><li>Uses – Horse, Cow, Dog and Poultry </li></ul>Recycling 2000
  10. 10. <ul><li>Datagroup was launched by Innovation Wexford in November 2009. </li></ul><ul><li>The aim of our Datagroup project is to create sustainable employment for people suffering social disadvantage, disability and marginalisation within our community. </li></ul><ul><li>Datagroup assists both local and national businesses meet their data protection obligations by offering a “one stop shop” solution for their Data Scanning , Data Storage and Data Destruction requirements within a secure and monitored environment. </li></ul><ul><li>Datagroup currently employs 10 staff (6 of whom have disability challenges). Datagroup’s ethos is to match a persons ability as distinct from their disability to a specific job. </li></ul>
