Innovation Wexford launched Recycling 2000 in 1995 as an environmental and job creation division.
Supported by Pobal, Recycling 2000 specialises in the collection of approximately 1500 tones per annum of newspaper from a selection of Collection Points.
The paper is used in the production of animal bedding materials, which are sold extensively throughout Southern Ireland and is now exported into the UK.
An integral part of the Initiative involves working with primary schools throughout County Wexford by delivering environment awareness to over 4000 students per annum and financially contributing to each schools green flag committees.
Recycling 2000 has developed a range of Animal Bedding materials, which have many distinct advantages over traditional materials. Old Newspapers are transformed into safe environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials. The paper bedding is available all year round at economic rates.
Approximately 70,000 - 20kg bales manufactured annually
Datagroup was launched by Innovation Wexford in November 2009.
The aim of our Datagroup project is to create sustainable employment for people suffering social disadvantage, disability and marginalisation within our community.
Datagroup assists both local and national businesses meet their data protection obligations by offering a “one stop shop” solution for their Data Scanning , Data Storage and Data Destruction requirements within a secure and monitored environment.
Datagroup currently employs 10 staff (6 of whom have disability challenges). Datagroup’s ethos is to match a persons ability as distinct from their disability to a specific job.
