Every day, more than 1.2 billion people connect to one another with a Nokia device – from mobile phones to advanced smartphones and high-performance mobile computers. Today, Nokia is integrating its devices with innovative services through Ovi (www.ovi.com), including music, maps, apps, email and more. Spotlight
  • 112. What is a Spotlight?
    • Spotlights are promotional placements for Content Items that are manually trafficked across Store Content Streams (device and desktop), using Ovi Publish’s built-in CMS tool.
    • 113. Spotlight placements are available across 3 channels: device client , XHTML and desktop:
    • 114. Mobile: 4 content areas – Applications, Games, Audio & Video, Personalization
    • 115. Desktop Banner
    • 116. Conditions to publish a spotlight:
Publisher to upload device and desktop Spotlight metadata in Publish to Ovi this is not a mandatory fieldd but if you don’t fill it you wont get a Spotlight
Images to pass QA and Moderation
Content Item is configured as Spotlight by Nokia Admin
    Click PDF for Spotlight Guidelines
  • 117. Desktop Banner – Creative Requirements
Keep It Simple: Effective Spotlight banners should be simple and concise. A study by Ad-Relevance found that banner ads that have too much going on result in lesser clicks and lower brand recall.
Make it Clear: Include a meaningful summary to make it clear what kind of application you are selling and what its key value proposition is. For Example, a Travel App: “A simple travel tool that calculates the degrees, nautical miles, state miles and kilometers between airports” or a Game: “Guide the monkey across the jungle, city swamp in this fun and addictive game.”
Include a Call-To-Action: State exactly what you want your prospective customers to do by including the words “Download Now” or “Click Here to Download” within your primary message or as a button. Ovi Store metrics show that including a Call-To-Action is critical to Spotlight success.
  • 118. Desktop Spotlight- Best Practices
