    Saint Mungo founded Glasgow around AD 500 establishing a church on the present Glasgow Cathedral site
    The site was first consecrated in 397 AD
    1136 AD the first Christian community in Glasgow was established on the site, which became the Glasgow Cathedral
    The oldest part of the present structure was completed about 1258
