  • 3. How Nigerians Living Abroad Can Invest At Home
    • INTRODUCTION
    • There are millions of Nigerians living abroad, we have some families who have recorded three generations outside the country. This exodus is either by individual omission or commission ,prior to Nigeria independence exodus was necessitated by the need to further their university education, there was a different scenario after independence when a lot of Nigerians fled to other countries due to the spill over effect of the Biafra war, ironically this migration continued until the early 80s when Nigerians started bombarding foreign embassies for the next 30 due to a reversal economy that is nose-diving to the ocean, this situation was unbearable majority of Nigerians ,they were left with o option than to fled their father land, Today millions of Nigerians live in neighboring African countries in Europe, USA, Americas and virtually all parts of the world, many have been buried abroad and long forgotten by their relatives in Nigeria
  • 4. PROBLEMS
    • The nation continues to source for expatriates from Europe, America and Asia to manage our Corporations while a significant number of Nigerian live abroad, as scientist, doctors, lecturers, expatriates, engineers and Researchers .etc
  • 5. PROBLEMS
    • The economy is at a standstill because we have lost human resources to foreign land, the nation relies on international monetary organization to run her economy, while Nigerians abroad are being used as technocrats to build foreign nations all around Europe and Americas while our own nation is crying for their contribution.
  • 6. PROBLEMS
    • Nigerians live abroad as laborers, sex-workers, illegal immigrants, drug pushers ,Executives, Policy makers and high ranking public Office Holders. Ironically, coming back home as much as they wanted has become an illusion because they have lost the link with their fatherland due to family mistrust, fraudsters, and also as a result of the economic depression and political instability that have characterized our polity for over three decades.
  • 7. PROBLEMS
    • The Nigerian society lack ‘THINKERS’ people who are creative and innovative, people who can turn the nation around. The country lacks creative investors when Nigeria is full of professors, scientist, graduates, accountants and engineers but majority lacks the creativity and innovation that could leapfrog the nation into a developing nation. WHY? Because those who can build the nation are stuck in foreign countries ,some remain in eternal self exile, and have chosen to live in oblivion, while those who are willing to liaise with their motherland are still waiting for the opportunity that will create an enabling environment, they wanted to be part of the nation history but they lack the gut and wit to do so and have resigned to procrastination
  • 8. APPEAL
    • As part of innovation, we propound solution to solve this lingering problem, in order to improve the general wellbeing of Nigerians living abroad in the context of the Nigerian Polity. After reading this presentation we challenge individual with the love of our dear country to contribute to this intellectual brainstorming in order to proffer a practical solution to this problem.
  • 9. FORMING COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES ABROAD
    • One solution is the formation of Cooperative societies in their domain,it will be a platform to improve individual capital reserve for this purpose. Individual funds will be pooled together under this platform. This fund will be geared towards establishing a Nigerian company that will engage in a profitable venture, this will serve as a basis to repatriate fund and bridge the gap between our economy and foreign countries
  • 10. FORMING A REAL ESTATE ALLIANCE
    • Real Estate Investment is known as one of the most sustainable investment all around the world. Nigerians living abroad should form a real estate alliance that could solve a major Housing problem among the middle class in the country. This alliance will be formed among friends, families, societies, professionals among Nigerians living abroad. This will also lead to the establishment of new towns, cities, Commercial and Residential Estates. UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL AND LIVE IN OBSCURITY. • 12. FORMING AN ICT PROFESSSIONAL ALLIANCE
    • The establishment of an ICT professional Alliance by Nigerians living abroad will lead to the establishment of a cyber corridor, that will leapfrog the nation into the league of technological advance countries, however this will encourage a link between the practitioners and activities in Nigeria, it will serve as a basis for a profitable investment in Nigeria by Nigerians abroad. There is abundant room for investment in the ICT sector, Nigeria is yet to take advantage of this global phenomenon and for those who will take advantage to invest in Nigerian ICT sector they stand to make profit from their investment .To get more information on the establishment of a cyber village read articles from our Nigerian born Philip emaegwali.
