Transcript of "The heaviest hailstorm in Lahore"

  1. 1. The hailstorm that struck Lahore on February 26, 2011 was considered to be the heaviest in the recent times . People called this a change in climate. It was a pleasant change to some other. The city was giving the scene of snowfall that evening. The hailstorm struck the city around 4.45 pm and continued for half an hour. “The plains of Punjab do receive hailstones in this part of winter because of differences in ground and air temperature. But this one was rare,” a meteorologist gave his description on that evening. The warning for hail-producing thunderstorms can be created by using weather satellites and weatherradar imagery. Hail stones generally fall at higher speeds as they grow in size. 2
