I get the idea this might be more for young singles. I am a 66 year old retired teacher who loves gardening, reading, and writing,NOT arithmetic. Is this a place for me?

Thanx Alan. It was a very useful presentation about Twitter as I really didn't know what Twitter is all about. Although I still don't know what's Twitters application, as you said experience is the best teacher. So I guess I have to give it a try and open an account and generally get an idea of how Twitter works. Thanks again.

@guest3886e5 This sort of noise indicates that your network on Twitter was not appropriate to your needs. Try building a small, focussed network which add value to what you already know. Maybe to start out, limit it to people you already know in some capacity. Noise comes from random strangers who are not well connected to you.

I walked the walk and decided that twitter was adding a lot of noise that was not of any benefit to me. The twitter updates I got tended to be unrelated private comments to other people than myself using the @personname convention. Frankly - if it's got nothing to do with me - why should I care about reading 1/2 of a conversation that is really just between two other people. My best comparison is that it's like being at a party and listening to everyone in the room have a discussion with someone else on a cell phone, or watching 1/2 of an instant messaging or texting session. Just not useful or relevant.

Thanks for this concise show. I have yet to embrace Twitter. It is blocked for education users.
